Biceps and Triceps Stretches
BICEPS AND TRICEPS STRETCHES
Scott is our Remedial Massage Therapist at Errol Street Chiropractic Centre in North Melbourne. In this video he is goes through two ways that you can stretch the upper arms.
The three muscles that he will be going through are; the biceps, triceps and deltoid muscles. The triceps and biceps are found on either side of the upper arm and the deltoid muscle is found around the shoulder. These muscles are important for shoulder flexibility and help with elbow flexibility. Stretching these muscles helps to reduce the risk of injury.
The 2 stretches are:
- .Biceps stretch: This stretch is done using a wall or something that you can hold onto. Place the hand against the wall with a straight arm and the biceps facing up. A stretch should be felt through the biceps, in the front of the arm. If you want to increase the stretch in the biceps you can turn the body away from the arm to increase the stretch. Hold for 30 seconds each side
- .Triceps stretch: This stretch is done by bringing one arm over the head and reaching back behind the shoulder. Bring the other hand over that elbow and increase the stretch by gently pulling the elbow back and down.. Hold for 30 seconds each side.
PLEASE NOTE: As with all stretches these shouldn’t cause any pain, and if you are then please stop stretching immediately and speak to your practitioner.
