Sleep Well with the Best Sleep Posture
Think about how much time you spend in bed. Are you waking up feeling rested? And if YOU wake up with back aches and stiffness, then watch this short video above, or read the blog below to find out what the best sleep posture looks like.. In fact, when we sleep are body is healing and regenerating so we wake up refreshed. If our sleep posture is placing stress on our spine and body, we do not wake up as well rested.
We look at the;

What are the two best sleep postures?
1. Side posture Aim to get your ear in line with your shoulder and shoulder in line with hip. This nice 👍 neutral spine is exactly what the best sleep posture looks like.
If this is not the case, check your;
- pillow height
- mattress integrity
- hips and knees are bent at about 45 degrees (pillow in between your knees can help prevent twisting your spine)
2. Back posture. Aim to get your ear in line with your shoulder and shoulder in line with hip. Once again this nice 👍 neutral spine ensures minimal stress on your spine and body.
If this is not the case, check your;
- pillow height
- mattress integrity
- leg alignment, keep legs straight
Don’t fret if there is no one at home to check your sleep posture.. Do through this video with a someone you live with and get them to check you. If you live on your own you could take a photo of yourself (use time lapse photography on your phone).
